The difference between Nei Gung and Chi Gung
Chi Gung means "energy work" and develops your
ability to allow chi (energy) to flow through your body along specific
pathways. Walking or swimming correctly could be seen as a form
of chi gung, where you can work on a specific part of the body as
part of a energising or healing process.
Nei Gung means "inner work" specific to Taoist
internal martial arts (including Tai Chi) and meditation practice
and involves the harmonisation of the bodies internal "cogs"
to allow energy to flow in the most efficient manner. It prepares
the body for an upgrade, making it stronger and more connected.
Nei Gung looks at the whole and does not focus on healing primarily.
These days it is more common to see the meaning of both systems
integrated and generically called Chi Gung.
Energy Gates Nei Gung
Downton School of Tai Chi teaches the principles of Energy Gates
Nei Gung, developed by Bruce
Frantzis, as an integral part of learning the movements of the
Wu Style Short or Long Forms.
The system works primarily on creating correct body alignments
that strengthen the joints whilst keeping tissue that supports them
relaxed and alive, allowing the chi to flow freely through the body.
You learn how to release "blockages" stored in the body
to increase your chi flow, as well as how to connect the upper and
lower body through correct weight transference and turning.

Dragon and Tiger Medical Chi Gung
Dragon and Tiger is a 1500 year old medical form of Chi Gung, and
is primarily used as a form of self-healing, or preventative exercise.
It is grounded in the ancient spiritual traditions of Buddhism and
Taoism.
The name Dragon-Tiger has many layers of meaning, one of which
is that you develop the agility and flexibility of a dragon (healthy
lungs) and the relaxed power of a walking tiger (healthy liver).
It is a series of seven synergistic movements that strengthens
the immune system, mitigates the effects of chronic illness and
improves relaxation. Dragon and Tiger moves energy through various
groups of yin and yang acupuncture meridians using these seven movements.
Dragon and Tiger is also a great introduction to the smoothness
associated with Tai Chi movement, and can greatly improve your Tai
Chi form if you already practice.
